If you have the gift of the gab, we present before you a stage and a worthy opponent. Be warned. The competition is fierce, and the stakes high. String together articulate words and deftness of the rational mind, and victory is yours. Fail to do so, and you are the pawn in the game.
Topic for english debate is:- Implementation of AFSPA(Armed forces special power act)is lawful or not?
Topic for hindi debate is:-"ICCHA MRITYU SAMAJ KE LIE VARDAAN YA ABHISHAP"
General Rules are :
1. Two teams will be allowed per college, one for Hindi and one for English.
2. Every team will have 2 participants one in favor and other one in opposition of the topic to be debate.
3. Topics will be displayed 1 day prior to Encore’11.
4. Each participant will be given 3 min for debating and 1min for question answer.
5. Marking will be based on:
a) Matter.
Matter is what you say, it is the substance of your speech. Proper use of arguments and examples in matter.
b) Manner.
Manner is how you present what you say and there are various aspects of manner that you need to be aware of. There is no one prescribed way of presenting your argument.
c) Method.
Method is how you organize your matter according to time and content.
Figments of Imagination(Story Creation)
For the sharp and humorous. A test as much of your talent as of the chemistry with your team. You need creativity and deftness of the mind to hold fort but above all a brave heart to handle some unconventional twists. If you think you can stand apart while helping your team win, the stage is all yours.
General Rules are :
1. Two participants per college will be allowed.
2. Two minutes will be given to every team for storytelling.
3. Each team will have to continue from the place where previous team had left.
4. Marking will be based on:
a) Creativity.
b) Dramatic appeal.
c) Appropriateness to listeners.
d) Characterization.
Upper Lip Stiff (Just a minute)
The Jam Master decides your destiny where you speak non-stop to survive the battle. It is not just a competition. It is a re-discovery of the language you speak.
1. The contestant will be given a topic on which he/she will get 30 seconds to think.
2. The time limit for their presentation is 1 minute.
3. Marking will be based on:
a) Accuracy.
b) Creativity.
c) Continuity and Clarity.
e) Diction.
f) Body language.
Mock General Assembly
A Mock General Assembly is an academic simulation of the UN that aims to educate participants about civics, current events, effective communication, globalization & multilateral diplomacy. . Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.
Topic for the Mock General Assembly is:- Measures taken by indivisual countries to prevent recession countries- India,China,Italy,Australia,Japan,
Spain,USA,UK
Teams will be allotted on First come first serve basis
