General Rules are :
1. Two teams will be allowed per college, one for Hindi and one for English.
2. Every team will have 2 participants one in favor and other one in opposition of the topic to be debate.
3. Topics will be displayed 1 day prior to Encore’11.
4. Each participant will be given 3 min for debating and 1min for question answer.
5. Marking will be based on:
a) Matter.
Matter is what you say, it is the substance of your speech. Proper use of arguments and examples in matter.
b) Manner.
Manner is how you present what you say and there are various aspects of manner that you need to be aware of. There is no one prescribed way of presenting your argument.
c) Method.
Method is how you organize your matter according to time and content.
For the sharp and humorous. A test as much of your talent as of the chemistry with your team. You need creativity and deftness of the mind to hold fort but above all a brave heart to handle some unconventional twists. If you think you can stand apart while helping your team win, the stage is all yours.
